Psalm 36 contrasts the wicked who do not fear God with those who delight in the vastness of who God is, especially His steadfast love.
Because God’s mercy is so vast, David asks Him to continue His steadfast love toward His people.
Ultimately, Jesus is the opposite of the wicked, perfectly fearing and obeying the Father. At the cross, God’s righteousness and steadfast love are displayed together. In Christ, we have the true fountain of life and light, and through His blood we are given a heart that can rightly fear the Lord.
In Christ, we find our refuge, our delight, and the steadfast love of God.

If you were to ask anyone whether they want a blessed life, the answer would almost certainly be yes. Who wants a life filled with confusion, suffering, and hardship? Most people would say that they want a life filled with fruitfulness, prosperity, happiness, and blessing.
The Bible, however, is not against human happiness or blessedness. In fact, one of the purposes of the book of Psalms is to lead us toward a truly blessed life.
